My first post
A warm welcome to my new AI journey.
Hello everyone,
The past few months have been rough. I was recently laid off, and I’ve been feeling lost about what direction to take next. This post is my attempt to bring some structure and accountability to my journey moving forward.
Background
I’ve been in the security space for a long time, but honestly, I don’t feel proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. When it comes to listing achievements on job applications, I struggle to point to anything meaningful.
Looking back, I missed some big opportunities. During my time doing Web2 bug bounties, if I had invested in learning a programming language or focused more on source-code reviews, my mindset and trajectory would likely be very different today. Instead, I stayed in my comfort zone—mostly chasing low-hanging fruit like IDORs.
Time feels incredibly precious now. Every day, I think about the mistakes I made and how to correct course.
What now?
I’ve been doing Web3 security for a while, but I haven’t really enjoyed it. To be honest, Web3 is hard. The heavy math, complex state tracking, and mental overhead just don’t resonate with me.
Recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time reading about AI and LLMs—not deeply yet, but enough to know that this genuinely excites me. The AI hype is real. Every time I open a job board, I see roles related to AI or yet another startup building something in this space and getting funded.
My current knowledge is very limited, but today marks my first real step into AI/ML.
What’s next?
I’ve curated a set of resources that I plan to study as I begin this journey. AI tools will obviously be part of the process—writing code, helping unblock me—but I want to keep my reliance on them minimal so I can build a deeper, more fundamental understanding.
This is me starting fresh and committing to the process.
Let’s go. ❤️
